Hi folks. Here's a new release with a bunch of new features and bug fixes.
Frequency Manager + Scanner
- New feature: you may now optionally display the descriptions
of frequencies in your database on the spectrum window. You control
the colors and transparency of the descriptions and their marker lines.
- New feature: the Browse window now allows you to type a
frequency directly into the grid, and the grid will dynamically filter
your database to matching frequencies. You may type a partial frequency
and all frequencies that start with the same digits will be displayed.
The more digits you type, the more specific the filtering.
- New feature: A checkbox in Preferences lets you control
whether the Last Update field is changed when performing bulk edits.
When unchecked this permits you to retain the original date and time the
frequency was recorded in the database.
- New feature: You may now change the font size in the Scanner
Decisions window and plugin. The new size will be remembered and used
the next time you start SDR#.
- New article: User David Bunyan has provided a how-to article in the Appendix on how to use the scanner effectively for WFM DXing. See also the WFM DXing Databases download in the Download Here section to get pre-built databases for different regions around the world, also graciously provided by David Bunyan.
Plus new features in the Data Tools Wizard and The Pluginator, and bug fixes throughout. Read the Change Log.
Install over the old one, or remove old one first??

If you already have an FMSuite 2.x version installed you can install over it. Thanks for trying my software.

Will you be releasing a version for .Net 3.5?
ReplyDeleteHi Stephen. I'm sorry, but no. There are so many .NET 4.6-specific programming elements involved that keeping two sets of source code in sync is impractical. I'm a hobbyist with a day job :) so I have only about 5 hours a week to work on FMS. Thanks for asking and thanks for your interest.

Hi, I recieve a "Cannot Install, FMSuite.Installer.exe is in use. close all programs...." No other instances of the installer are running, please advise.
ReplyDeleteThanks
J
This can happen if you are trying to install to the same folder which contains the installer. Try moving the installer out of the SDR# folder and running it from some other folder. Thanks for trying my software.

ReplyDeleteQuick search of my hard drive not death. LOL
DeleteI also mentioned sdr sharp sorry
DeleteHi. SDR# is installed into whatever folder your desktop SDR# icon is pointed to. Try right-clicking the icon and selecting Properties from the menu that pops up. The "target" field will tell you what folder SDR# is in.
DeleteThanks for trying my software,
Jeff
Thank you for your very fast response you are awesome Jeff. I know you are going to think I'm crazy, but I downloaded and followed all instructions for sdrsharp from airspy. But the icon remained to be named sdrsharp. When I click on sdrsharp it starts the program and in the upper left hand corner the version of the app running is sdr#v1.0.0.1443 but there are no files no anything called sdr# on my computer. I even selected see all hidden files in my search of my hard-drive.I have deleted and re-download everything 4 times now but to no avail. Still no sdr# not even in the downloaded material from airspy. Thanks Jeff for your patience with me.
ReplyDeleteWow I finally got it to work I had to change the file name sdr# manually then your program recognized it. Thanks for helping Jeff

ReplyDeleteGlad you got it working, Kevin. BTW the actual SDR# excecutable is named 'sdrsharp.exe' because the # symbol is not valid for filenames.
ReplyDeleteThanks,
Jeff

Trying to use Frequency Manager + Scanner..
ReplyDeleteAn error occured. The error was:
Frequency Manager + Scanner internal error. The Name of the database file was not specified
Frequency Manager + Scanner will be disabled
at FMSuite.Common.Shared.CheckDb(String dbFile, Boolean import)
Exception of type 'System.Exception' was thrown.
Hello Rizuki. There are two cases where this error is likely to happen:
Delete1. In a previous run of Frequency Manager + Scanner, in its Preferences dialog, no filename was given when selecting a database.
2. The file FMSuite.FreqMgr.Config, in the SDR# folder, is corrupt and the current database name is missing from it.
I recommend uninstalling FMSuite and re-installing it. Run the installer from a folder other than the SDR# folder. Please let me know if this fixes the problem.
Thanks for giving me a chance to help, and thanks for trying my software.
Jeff
